It is just like the prodical son coming home. The Indianapolis Colts finally have a defense. They have went the way of a high powered offense, neglecting the one thing they need to win it all, until now.

With the addition of Cory Simon, the whole defense has improved. As an offensive line, who do you double team for protection? Cory Simon or Dwight Freeney? If you must double team one, the other is capable of making a big play on defense plus leaving a line backer free to do what he wants. If you double team both, you might as well let Indy's line backers do what they want because there will be no one to block them. Also will the added pressure from the front seven, the secondary does not need to guard receivers for as long because the quarterback will not have the luxury of time. Adding one key player has allowed Indy's defense to seem like it has been overhauled.

You add a smothering defense with an offense with the capability to outscore anyone, then you have the makings of a Superbowl contender that will be hard to be denied. They are my pick to be the AFC representative and I am not sure if any NFC team has anything for them.
